P: Justin Verlander ($10,500): I am going with one ace today, but not both. Chris Sale‘s numbers against Detroit are not very good. Verlander has fared pretty well against the current Boston lineup. They are only hitting .200 off of Verlander in 115 at bats with only seven extra base hits. None are home runs, and they have only scored ten runs. He lacks the huge strikeout potential of Sale, but 25 strikeouts in 110 at bats is a solid rate.

P: Taijuan Walker ($8,700): Walker was decent against the Giants in his first start, but picking up the win helped his day. He still gave up four runs, but the seven strikeouts bailed him out. He now has ten punch outs in 43 at bats against the current Giants squad. It came down to Paxton or Walker and I decided to pay for the extra strikeout potential of Walker.

C: Buster Posey ($3,600): With Gary Sanchez out, Posey is the next best numbers. The 2-5 against Taijuan Walker is nothing special, but it is better than what anyone else can offer this afternoon. When in doubt, Posey is a good pick.

1B: Victor Martinez ($3,800): Chris Sale was brilliant in his Boston debut, but the Tigers are very familiar with him from his time in the A.L. Central. They have also hit him pretty hard. Detroit has 15 homers off of him. We do have a tough decision to make right away though. Miguel Cabrera has four homers and six RBI. Martinez has four homers and nine RBI with a ridiculous .435 average in 46 at bats. I have to go with Victor for the $1,200 price difference. There are so many great options at first base, but I still like V-Mart.

2B: Ian Kinsler ($4,500): Jean Segura actually has better numbers than Kinsler, but I am paying for the extra home run potential here. Kinsler has homered twice off of Chris Sale with four RBI, five walks, and a solid .262 average in 42 at bats.

3B: Trevor Plouffe ($3,400): Plouffe is 7-17(.412) with a walk, a double, a homer, and two RBI against Ian Kennedy. Yonder Alonso has better numbers, but I’m not wavering at first base. I will get my exposure to this game through Plouffe. He has struggled in his new home so far, but I’m trusting the past numbers.

SS: Brad Miller ($3,900): Miller got a donut in the opener, but his career stats against Pineda are still great. Miller is 7-20 with two walks, two doubles, two triples, a homer, and four RBI against Pineda.

OF:  Corey Dickerson ($3,600): Pineda continues his struggles with the Rays. He didn’t even make it through four innings in the opener against them. Dickerson hit a two run homer in that game. He now has eight hits in 14 at bats with two doubles, two homers, and five RBI. Dickerson is a great play once again.

OF: Steven Souza ($3,800): The Rays stack is in order again. Souza didn’t hit a home run in the first game against Pineda, but he is still 10-21(.476) against him lifetime now with three doubles, four homers, and seven RBI. You really can’t go wrong here. Souza still got points, after all.

OF: George Springer ($4,000): Springer doesn’t have great numbers against James Paxton. He is only 3-15 after all. However, Springer hits lefties hard, and when he has been able to get a hold of a Paxton offering, he has done a lot with them. He has homered twice against Paxton.
