Brandon Kintzler

RP,

The Minnesota Twins are never a really good baseball team, though they are trying to get back to their glory years. In 2017, expect more losing than winning, as they continue to try and go with their younger players. They do have some fantastic players in their farm system, but the 2017 season is going to be one that should end with them in the bottom of the American League Central.

With that said, you always want to get closer, and Brandon Kintzler is going to assume that role for the Twins in 2017. Kintzler got some good experience closing games last season, as he finished 36 games for the Twins in 2016. He does not strike out a ton of batters, but with the Twins playing a lot of close games this season, he could reach 25 or more saves if he does his job.

Minnesota has said that it is his job to lose, but you have to wonder how long the leash is going to be. Still, it is early in the season, and you need to stack save guys whenever you can. He may not be the team’s closer at the end of the season, so pick him up now and take whatever you can from him before the Twins start to give the opportunity to close games to some of their bigger prospects.
