Fantasy baseball: 25 players you need to claim
By Brad Weiss
The New York Yankees have decided to play the young kids, which means right fielder Aaron Judge is going to get every opportunity to succeed this season. A towering player, Judge has the ability to hit the ball out of any park, though he needs to cut down on his strikeouts. He is currently batting towards the bottom of the Yankees lineup, but with more experience, he could be a four-or-five hitter sooner than later.
The bugaboo with Judge is that he strikes out too much, which is something that could scare away fantasy owners. Still, he is going to drive in runs for a Yankees lineup that should get better as the year goes on. There is no denying that he has light-tower power, and once he improves his batting eye, he could be someone who hits 30-plus home runs a season.
For now, Yankees manager Joe Girardi plans to run him out there everyday, as a platoon with Aaron Hicks is not on the horizon. If Judge gets it going, he is going to be picked up very quickly off the waiver wire, so grabbing him early should pay dividends in the long run. He is going to be a guy who hits at least 25 home runs this season, and if he can drive in 60 or more runs, he will be well worth the pickup this early in the season.
