The Georgia Bulldogs will hold their annual G-Day spring game at the end of the month.
It’s springtime across the country and that means many of the best programs in college football will be having spring practices. Many major programs will be holding their annual spring games sometime during April, including the SEC’s Georgia Bulldogs.
Spring football is a massive deal in the southeast. Georgia does it right with their annual G-Day game. Last April, first-year head coach Kirby Smart was able to pack Sanford Stadium to the brim with over 93,000 members of Dawg Nation in attendance at G-Day.
So when is G-Day this year and what time will Georgia get to tee it up Between the Hedges once more? The 2017 spring game for the Bulldogs will be on Saturday, April 22. Kickoff from Sanford Stadium will be at 2:00 p.m. ET. The SEC Network will broadcast this fine event for those who can’t make it to the Classic City back home.
Georgia looks to improve on a so-so 2016 campaign. Smart’s Bulldogs went 8-5 (4-4) last season with wins over North Carolina, Auburn and TCU. However, going 4-4 in SEC play was not up to par for this blue-blood program. The Bulldogs dropped SEC games to Ole Miss, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Florida. Georgia also fell to in-state rival Georgia Tech of the ACC for the second time in two years.
2017 is a massively important year for Smart. He has recruited well, but will need to prove he’s the right man for the Georgia job in year two. Should the Bulldogs beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend, they have a shot at being undefeated before facing arch rival in Florida down in Jacksonville.

Not that these spring games tell us everything we need to know about a team, but great play at quarterback and from the offensive line would be huge for the Bulldogs heading into the 2017 NCAA season.
