The 2017 LSU Football Spring Game will be the first glimpse at Ed Orgeron’s National Championship contender, but when will the game be played?

For the first time in recent memory, the LSU Tigers will begin a college football season without Les Miles at the helm. The head coaching job now belongs to Ed Orgeron as he begins his first full year at the position. He has a ton of talent returning to Baton Rouge, despite the playmakers he lost, and should be in the National Championship mix. We’ll see how realistic that is this early, though, at the 2017 LSU Football Spring Game.

Losing a star like Leonard Fournette would be devastating 99 percent of the time for a college program. However, Orgeron and LSU have his replacement already breaking down the door and ready to shine. The offense of the Tigers in the LSU Football Spring Game and come September will revolve around Derrius Guice. A rising junior, he was a stud in relief of Fournette a year ago and should deliver the same.

Of course, LSU remains a team that thrives off of their defense as well. That shouldn’t be a changing narrative in the 2017 season for the Tigers. Leading the way will be Arden Key, who’s already set the single-season sack record in Baton Rouge. He’s going to be a top-five draft pick in 2018 and he’ll show why in the LSU Football Spring Game and beyond.

The real question, as it always seems to be, is going to be at quarterback. With Brandon Harris transferring, Danny Etling seems like the only choice as the starter. With that said, he needs to show in the spring game that he’s ready to take a step forward.

Clearly there’s a great deal to see whenever the Tigers first take the field this offseason. So when will this game be played?
