Ben Roethlisberger has been a star in the NFL his entire career, which he will extend for the 2017 season.

The Pittsburgh Steelers made it all the way to the AFC Championship Game last season, falling to the New England Patriots. However, this offseason there was uncertainty as to whether or not quarterback Ben Roethlisberger would be back for the 2017 season. Big Ben announced this weekend that he would in fact be back for his 14th NFL season, which instantly makes the Steelers a favorite to return to the playoffs next season.

Marcus Trufant is the best cornerback on the Atlanta Falcons, and the team made sure it would stay that way for the next five season. Trufant signed a monster deal with the Falcons this weekend, and will earn nearly $69 million over the course of the deal. The 26-year old tore his pectoral late last season, and saw his season end without being able to play in the team’s run to the Super Bowl.

The front line for the Philadelphia Eagles defense was supposed to be dominant next season, after making some nice moves to improve the unit this offseason. However, the depth took a huge blow this weekend, as Beau Allen tore his pectoral muscle. The loss of Allen will be softened by the fact the team signed Bennie Logan already this offseason, as well as former Baltimore Raven Timmy Jernigan.

Staying with the Baltimore Ravens, they brought back a familiar face this weekend as well. Lardarius Webb signed a new three-year deal with the team that released him back in March. The Ravens had signed Tony Jefferson this offseason, leading to Webb’s release, but they will now have both guys in their defensive backfield for the 2017 season.

Finally, a sendoff for Tony Romo that only a man like Mark Cuban could pull off. The Dallas Mavericks owner will allow Romo to suit up for one game for the Mavericks, making him a “Maverick for a Day.” Romo will be on the bench in uniform when the Mavericks take on the Denver Nuggets in their regular season finale. Romo has been with the Cowboys since 2003, and is a huge fan of the team.
