5 stars who should stay right where they are in the WWE Superstar Shakeup
By Jack Crosby
Everyone is focused on who will be on the move in the WWE Superstar Shakeup this week, but there are some who should just stay put
The night after WrestleMania is always filled with some surprises, and boy did we ever get one of those last Monday night from the chairman himself, Vince McMahon. Prior to announcing that new WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle is the now the general manager of RAW on Mondays now, he revealed this week we’d see what’s called a “Superstar Shakeup.” Now this is not a draft, rather just a few pieces will be moved around to make things a little more interesting now that WrestleMania is in the rearview mirror.
Speculation, of course, immediately began as to which RAW superstars may find a new home on Tuesday nights with SmackDown Live and vice versa. When you talk about a shakeup, you want to know who’s going to be on the move, naturally.
But we also have to realize it’s important to focus on who shouldn’t be on the move as well, as they’re perfect just where they are at the moment.
5. Brock Lesnar
Following the announcement of the Shakeup, the advocate for the Beast Incarnate, Paul Heyman, alluded to the possibility of Brock returning to the brand he once called home during his first stint with the company. While a move from the flagship RAW to SmackDown Live for the mayor of Suplex City would get everyone talking, it simply can’t — and in all likelihood won’t — happen.
Next to John Cena, Lesnar is the biggest mainstream star the company has at the moment and the new Universal Champion needs to stay on the flagship brand of Vince McMahon. Sure, moving Cena to SmackDown Live during last year’s draft was intriguing and added some needed shock value, but it was mainly done to help get the new live show off the ground running. Since then, it’s proven that it’s just fine on its own — even without Big Match John at times.
There’s no reason to move Brock right now, so keep the suplex aficionado on RAW so we can see him … well, whenever his contract tells him he has to show up with the red strap.
