When the Chicago Cubs have a day off, you can bet that somewhere Kris Bryant is taking some swings. Today, it is downtown Chicago.

Downtown Chicago is a great place to visit. The shops on Michigan Avenue. The Cloud Gate and fountains of Millennium Park. The Chicago Symphony. Navy Pier. Children’s Museum. And the deep dish pizza is the best in the world.

Where else can you go to see a river turn green for St. Patrick’s day? Or enjoy a view from inside a glass overhang from hundreds of feet in the air. Or go for a stroll and see Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant launching baseballs into the river?

Yes. You read that correctly. Today at 12pm Central, Bryant will be taking batting practice in downtown Chicago. Once again working with Red Bull, the reigning NL MVP will crack baseballs into the Chicago River. The event is called “BP in the Streets.”

Fans are encouraged to arrive by 11am Central in order to get a good viewing location. Following the exhibition will be a time of questions and answers with Young Wayne.  The Urban Kayak and Harbor Safety Committee will be there to assist in cleaning up and keeping the environment safe.

If you are unable to watch in person, don’t worry. You can go to

This is not the first time that Red Bull and Bryant have teamed up this year. Back in February, the energy drink company pranked Bryant by having MLB Hall of Fame pitcher Greg Maddox dress like a sound crew member who threw batting practice. It was a hilarious moment between the two players.

It looks like the relationship between Bryant and Red Bull will continue to be entertaining. I wonder what they will come up with next?
