The 2017 NFL Draft is only a few weeks away, and according to Myles Garrett, teams better select him first overall, or else.
Looking at most NFL Mock Drafts, it appears Myles Garrett is slated to be the first overall selection in this month’s NFL Draft. The edge player from Texas A&M is one of more incredible physical specimens we have seen in a long time, and with the Cleveland Browns picking first, they could certainly use a player with his skill set. On Monday, Garrett let his feelings about the draft be known, saying that if teams do not draft him, he will “punish them.”
From one future No. 1 pick, to a former one, as Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff feels his team is a lot closer to being good than many may think. The former Cal Golden Bear had an up and down rookie season, sitting behind Case Keenum before finally starting the team’s tenth game of the season. The Rams went 4-12 last season, and will not have a pick in the first round in 2017, after trading their pick away to get the first overall pick last year.
Staying with the quarterback position, it appears recently retired Tony Romo could have been a professional athlete in another sport as well. After staring for the Dallas Cowboys for the last 14 seasons, Romo decided to hang up his cleats this month, and will now head to the broadcast booth for the upcoming season. Former NBA player Caron Butler, who played with Romo on the All-Racine County (Wisconsin) boys’ basketball team in high school, said Romo could have played in the NBA.
Junior Galette just cannot seem to keep himself out of trouble, and it may eventually spell the end of his NFL career. The current Washington Redskins defensive lineman was arrested in Mississippi on suspicion of disorderly conduct and failure to comply with police orders, according to the Biloxi Police Department. Galette has battled injuries and issues off the field during his time in the NFL, which has derailed a once-promising NFL career.

Finally, the NFL season is getting closer, as the league announced their preseason schedule on Monday. The preseason will kick off on August 3 in the annual Hall of Fame Game, which is played in Canton, Ohio. That game will be an NFC matchup against the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals, two teams that have a vested interest in the players being enshrined in this year’s Hall of Fame class.
