The Richard Sherman saga continues, with the latest rumors stating that the Seattle Seahawks are seeking multiple picks in return for Sherman.

The Seahawks continue to pursue a trade for CB Richard Sherman. It was originally reported that Seattle was trying to trade Sherman. Then, there were stories saying that Sherman was the one who requested the trade.

Regardless of who wanted the trade to happen, Seattle’s asking price for Sherman seems to be a bit on the steep side.

According to Jordan Schultz of the Huffington Post, it will take multiple picks to pry Sherman away from Seattle.

In my opinion, that’s a unrealistically high asking price for a 29-year-old cornerback. To put it in perspective, the Eagles traded QB Sam Bradford for first-round and fourth-round picks.

Couple that with Sherman’s contract, which carries a cap hit of roughly $13 million in each of the last two years, it’ll be awfully difficult for a team to trade for him.

As Schultz alluded to, Sherman was elite last year, giving up a passer rating of 59.1 when targeted and only allows a completion every 16.2 snaps — the best in the league.

Although he’s been great on the field, Sherman’s been outspoken in the locker room.

Head Coach Pete Carroll allows for an open environment that allows his players to speak out, but in Sherman’s case, it could be the nail in his coffin.

The Seattle CB went on a sideline tirade on the Seahawks’ OC Darrell Bevell because he didn’t like the goal-line plays that the Seahawks were running.

For that asking price, I don’t see any team lining up to vie for Sherman’s services. If I had to bet on a side, I think Sherman will be back in blue and green next year.
