The next entry in the Uncharted series, The Lost Legacy, has a new trailer and an official release date, and the game looks incredible.
After Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, developer Naughty Dog assured us that they would no longer be making more Uncharted games. Apparently, that wasn’t entirely true. Although Uncharted: The Lost Legacy won’t include Nathan Drake, it’s still an entirely new story for the series. The new trailer makes sure of that. Plus, we finally have a release date.
In The Lost Legacy, we’ll be playing as Chloe Frazer. If you’ve played Uncharted 2: Among Thieves or Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, then you’ll recognize her. She was introduced in the second game and became an aid to Drake on her quest. Chloe was also a love interest and sometimes a villain to Drake. She was a great character who was completely absent from A Thief’s End, which was unfortunate.
By her side will be Nadine Ross, who was an important character in A Thief’s End. Chloe has enlisted her help in The Lost Legacy. They’re on a mission to get a hold of a fabled ancient Indian artifact before another ruthless person does.

In order to get their hands on this ancient artifact, they’ll have to travel deep into the mountains of India. In typical Uncharted fashion, there will be plenty of exploration, interesting dialogue, and intense action. We’re very glad that we’ll be getting this new game/expansion.
With this confirmed release date, we assume this means that Naughty Dog will be shifting their focus to The Last of Us Part 2. The game was officially announced at last years PlayStation Experience. It was still very early in development, so hopefully we’ll be getting an update at E3 2017.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy launches on Aug. 22, 2017, exclusively on the PlayStation 4. It will cost $39.99.
