Finn Balor simply can’t catch a break when it comes to his health as he reportedly suffered another injury on the April 10 episode of WWE RAW

Whenever the WWE Draft happened in July 2016, it was immediately clear that the company had major plans for Finn Balor. The longtime NXT Champion was called up and selected with the No. 5 overall pick. What’s more, he was put in a No. 1 Contender match for the then-new Universal Championship to see who’d face Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. Balor won that match, then defeated Rollins to become champ. Unfortunately, he then suffered a shoulder injury and had to vacate the belt.

That shoulder injury kept Balor out of action from August until April 3 on the episode of WWE RAW after WrestleMania 33. He returned in the main event to team with Rollins against Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens. The Demon King looked better than ever and picked up the pinfall victory for his team.

In his second week back on April 10 and the start of the Superstar Shakeup, he was put in a match with Jinder Mahal. Sadly, this too would turn out badly for Balor.

At one point during their match, the two were countering one another coming off the ropes. Balor came off and went to come at Mahal. However, Mahal then went to take him out with a big forearm. Instead, he hit him right in the temple with his elbow — or something close — and left Finn Balor obviously stunned. And now it seems that it might’ve also left him out indefinitely.

According to Mike Johnson of PW Insider, Balor suffered a concussion as a result of that moment with Mahal. What’s more, there’s no word on the timetable for his return. Meanwhile, Johnson notes that WWE has not yet confirmed the injury.

While this many injuries might cause some to give Finn Balor the injury-prone label, it shouldn’t. Yes he’s had shoulder issues, but this looks to be wholly on Mahal. By the looks of it, he botched that move and now Balor is paying the price for it.

Concussions are always trick business and for good reason. They’re nothing to take lightly or mess around with. However, we can hope that this one doesn’t hurt him long-term and that he’ll be back in action sooner rather than later.
