NHL playoffs 2017: Canadiens vs. Rangers TV schedule
The Montreal Canadiens and New York Rangers will square off in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Here’s a full series television schedule.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs are officially underway. In the first round, the Atlantic Division champion Montreal Canadiens will square off against the seventh seed New York Rangers. This series has the potential to be very dramatic. The two teams have a bit of recent history, most of stemming from Chris Kreider colliding with Carey Price back in the 2014 postseason. Montreal and New York will do battle in the playoffs for the first time since then.
Firing Michel Therrien has done wonders for the Canadiens. Former Boston Bruins head coach Claude Julien is responsible for saving their season. Since hiring him, they have won two-thirds of their games and have pulled away with the top spot in the division. Montreal is led by captain Max Pacioretty, Alexander Radulov, Price and star defenseman Shea Weber. They haven’t won a Stanley Cup since 1993 and they’re looking to change that.
On the other side of the ice, the Rangers will face the lesser of two evils. While they face a very good Montreal team, they get to avoid the Metropolitan Division until the Eastern Conference Finals. With all due respect to the Habs, this is good for the Rangers. They’re led by Henrik Lundqvist, captain Ryan McDonagh and Derek Stepan. Here’s a complete schedule for their series.

This should be a very interesting series. The Rangers speed should be difficult for Montreal to match up against. On the other hand, the Habs’ size will be hard for New York to match. It should be a fascinating chess match.
