Is Chicago PD new tonight, April 12? We tell you whether the hit NBC detective drama is airing a new episode Wednesday and what’s next in season 4.
Is NBC‘s Chicago PD new tonight, April 12? That’s the question fans are asking after last week’s episode left audiences on the edge of their seats. But viewers will have to wait some time before seeing what happens next in season 4.
Chicago PD is on Wednesday, April 12 at 10 p.m. but as a rerun. Tonight is a repeat showing of the season 4 midseason premiere, “Don’t Bury This Case,” in which the Intelligence Unit investigates Chicago Fire main character Kelly Severide (guest star Taylor Kinney) for possible involvement in a hit and run accident that injured a woman and killed her daughter.
The series is also in repeats next Wednesday, April 18. The season 4 episode “Sanctuary,” which features Nick Wechsler (Revenge) as Detective Kenny Rixton and Rixton running afoul of Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), will air at 10 p.m.
You’ll have to wait two weeks to see the next new Chicago PD. The season resumes on Wednesday, April 26 at 10 p.m. as the Intelligence Unit moves on without Detective Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), who left in the most recent episode to care for her sister Nicole (Jules Willcox) after Nicole was the victim of sexual assault.
In actuality, Squerciati is on maternity leave and will return for any potential season 5. But will the absence of Burgess leave a hole in the team on-screen? You’ll have to tune in to the next new episode to find out.
Next: 'Nashville' renewed by CMT, but with less episodes
