Here’s a full television schedule for the first round series between the Washington Capitals and the Toronto Maple Leafs

The Stanley Cup Playoffs are officially underway. In the first round, the Washington Capitals and the Toronto Maple Leafs will face off for the first time in the postseason. The Caps are coming off their second consecutive President’s Trophy as the top team in the NHL during the regular season. Meanwhile, the Maple Leafs snuck into the postseason as the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. Their reward is getting to face the top seed in the conference.

Washington wasn’t just the best team in the league because they had the most points. They also allowed the fewest goals while scoring the third most. This might seem similar to last season, but this year’s Caps appear much different. Last season, they limped into the postseason, having clinched the top seed in the league with seven games to go. This season, the pressure put on them by the Pittsburgh Penguins and Columbus Blue Jackets forced them to stay sharp. And stay sharp they have, as they’ve been playing some of their best hockey over the past few weeks.

On the other side of the ice, the Maple Leafs have returned to the postseason for the first time since the 2012-13 season. Despite their record, the Caps can’t afford to look past them. Much like Washington during the 2011-12 postseason, the Leafs have nothing to lose as the eight seed. No one is expecting much from them anyway. Behind Auston Matthews and a young, hungry team, the Leafs will hope to pull off one of the greatest upsets in the history of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The two teams will officially start their first round series on Thursday. Here’s a complete television viewing schedule for their series.
