Russell Westbrook vs. James Harden. As far as NBA regular season drama goes, this is about as good as it gets. NBA players are resting all over the land, including Westbrook for one game, as the real season finally begins this weekend. Shouldn’t there be a rule change, and the MVP will be decided in 2017 by who wins the opening round series between the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder? Seems like a reasonable thing to do under the circumstances. No ties please, or campaigning.

Sergio Garcia is your masters champion. Tiger Woods congratulated him. Sergio once said he would have dinner with Tiger and eat fried chicken. Nice to see that uncomfortable moment in time is in the past. The crowd was rooting for Sergio, perhaps because Justin Rose reminded them of an introverted librarian. Masters 2017 wasn’t watched by many, but those who did enjoyed their late Sunday golf drama.

Home at last for the World Series champion Chicago Cubs. Quite the banner raising ceremony, glitches included. Nice touch by the Cubs going into the bleachers to raise both 2016 banners and 1907, 1908. Wrigley Field looks different with the bullpens now under the bleachers and with World Series flags flying.

This edition of Carm and Kayla is perhaps highlighted by Kayla singing Britney Spears songs. Lot of them. Britney will be performing her last show in Las Vegas. Kayla really wants to go and her passion is on display.

There is also that United Airlines thing. Flying the friendly skies may never be the same. If security asks you to leave, you should, but using force like that can never be the answer, especially on an airplane. United Airlines is going to pay a long lasting price.

Kaylan Knierim is a great flyer. You can follow her on twitter @kaylaknierim. Mark Carman is an average, at best, flyer. He can be followed @thecarm.
