The Ottawa Senators face the Boston Bruins in game one of their NHL playoff series at the Canadian Tire Centre on Wednesday, April 12.
The Ottawa Senators and Boston Bruins begin their best of seven series at the Canadian Tire Centre on Wednesday night. After missing the playoffs last season, first-year head coach of the Senators Guy Boucher led the team to the playoffs.
The Bruins had missed the playoffs the two previous seasons. The team decided to fire their head coach Claude Julien in the middle of the season and replace him with Bruce Cassidy. Cassidy led a turnaround in Boston as the Bruins went from being out of the playoffs to qualifying as the third seed in the Atlantic division. However, the Bruins finished three points behind the Senators giving Ottawa home ice advantage.
Both the Senators and Bruins could both be getting players back on their blue line. Brandon Carlo and Torey Krug are day-to-day but expected to be ready for game one of the series for Boston. Ottawa defencemen Marc Methot and Erik Karlsson are also expected to play in the first game.
