The official Twitter account for the Philadelphia Phillies is fighting back against the many sad(!) haters and pathetic(!) losers in its mentions.

If there is one job in the world that I would not wish upon my worst enemy, it would be that of a social media manager for a professional sports franchise. Just imagine, angry fans flooding your mentions day after day after day after day — complaining, cursing, indirectly calling you out for things you have no control over. Talk about needing to have an elephant-hide thick skin to go to work every day.

Well, whichever brave employee runs the official Twitter account for the Philadelphia Phillies is not so subtly telling the anonymous haters online that their comments are falling on deaf ears.

I’ve never been one to understand a fan blowing up their team’s social media account with vitriolic tweets. No decision maker or player reads the tweets, and the person running the account certainly cannot tell you whether or not it will be raining or sunny by the time first pitch rolls around.

Let’s take a look at some of the real gems that are flooding into the mentions of the Phillies every day. Keep in mind that Philly sports fans are not known to be among the most cool-headed folks on the planet.

Hmmm. Very sage advice, Scott T.

Sad! Although, perhaps Himmelrover’s input was considered in giving the closer’s job off to Joaquin Benoit.

He may be finished, but IS he DONE?!?!? Only time will tell.

Can confirm, Clay Buchholz is now done and finished thanks to this sick burn on Twitter dot com.

Now this, ladies and gents, is a smart, smart man.

At the end of the day, you either get it, or you don’t. Best of luck to whoever runs @Phillies the rest of the year.
