Chris Christie calls out Eli Manning over memorabilia scandal
By Noah Torr
Eli Manning has been accused of selling unused memorabilia as game-used and Chris Christie called him out for it.
Chris Christie, governor of New Jersey, is known for not being afraid to speak his mind and will call out anybody who he thinks is in the wrong.
Eli Manning, the starting quarterback for the New York Giants, has come under question because he and the Giants organization allegedly sold unused memorabilia to collectors and memorabilia sites under the pretense that they were used during a game. No legal action has been brought against eight the Giants organization or Manning as of April 14.
Christie called Manning a “liar” and said that his brother, Peyton, wouldn’t get involved in something like this because “Peyton’s smarter.” Ouch. That was a low blow, Christie.
The law firm that represents the Giants said that the email that Manning sent to the equipment manager asking for helmets was taken out of context. Christie’s response to that? “They presumably have possession of the emails. They represent Eli. So, if it’s out of context, put it in context. Release the other things where Eli’s like, ‘Just joking.'”
It is kind of ironic to see Christie calling out Manning for a scandal when he is involved in his own right now. Christie’s Bridgegate scandal sent two former aides to prison. If you want to read about that, check out this piece from Time here.
There are also a handful of tweets making fun of Manning that I thought I should include in here for your entertainment.

Twitter never disappoints, does it? There has been no official response from the Manning camp, but we may hear something within the next few days. The Giants are starting to focus on draft preparations, and this kind of distraction is not something that fans or executives will find very appealing.
