MLB DFS Value Plays for DraftKings and FanDuel April 14th

I’ll be looking to uncover the most obvious MLB DFS Value Plays on each slate, and each site. Value plays will generally consist of under-priced players, or players priced differently on a given site. Some values will be in play on both sites, some will only be values on one specific site. Note that value tends to carry higher ownership and may be worth a fade in specific GPP contests.

Tonight’s slate features 13 games, with Cleveland (4.9), Minnesota (4.9), and Kansas City (4.8), holding the best projected team totals. With expensive arms like Kershaw and Thor, on the the table, we’ll have to find salary relief from our batters. Here are a handful of value plays on both DraftKings and FanDuel.

DraftKings MLB Values:

Francisco Lindor – CLE (SS) – $4700

Cleveland will play host to the Detroit Tigers tonight, in a game in which the Indians are a -165 favorite. The game has already seen significant line movement, as Cleveland opened at -125 and is now all the way up to -165. Francisco Lindor should be able to use his spot in the order (2nd), and the favorable matchup, to his advantage. Lindor has some impressive batted ball stats of late. In the last 15 days, Lindor’s batted balls have averaged 256 feet, with an exit velocity of 95 MPH.

Mike Moustakas – KC (3B) – $3200

Mike Moustakas will be on the good side of a lefty vs. righty split tonight, as he’ll face the righty, J.C. Ramirez. Moustakas has gotten the better of righties so far, with a .395 wOBA split and a .329 ISO split. If you’re looking to get exposure to the third basemen, consider him on DraftKings, where he’s much cheaper.

FanDuel MLB Values:

Dustin Pedroia – BOS (2B) – $2900

The 12 year veteran, Dustin Pedroia, has struggled to accumulate extra base hits early this season, but has managed to record a hit in all but one of his starts. Pedroia may be a prime candidate for positive regression as some of his batted ball numbers would indicate that he’s batting better than his results would indicate. Over the last 15 days, his exit velocity is up over 3 MPH and his hard hit percentage is up 9% over his yearly average, dating back to last year.

Michael Brantley – CLE (OF) – $3300

Michael Brantley is simply too cheap given his spot in the order, and Cleveland’s team total. Brantley is significantly cheaper on FanDuel at only $3300. If you’re looking to get exposure to the top of Cleveland’s order, consider Brantley, who has an attractive combination of power and stolen base upside.

Good luck!
