Milwaukee Bucks small forward Giannis Antetokounmpo flexes his dominance over Toronto Raptors shooting guard DeMar DeRozan on this block in Game 1.

Game 1 of the 2017 Eastern Conference quarterfinals between the No. 3 Toronto Raptors and the Milwaukee Bucks was a rout. However, it wasn’t the type of blowout as many NBA fans expected. Milwaukee took Game 1 in Toronto by the score of 97-83.

This was a bit of a coming out party for Bucks All-Star swingman Giannis Antetokounmpo. He was the best player on the court on Saturday evening, allowing his Bucks to win Game 1 on the road. The exclamation on his Game 1 performance was this filthy block on Raptors All-Star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan.

It was easy to see why Antetokounmpo get a little too emotional on that shot block. He just blocked one of the best shooting guards in the game today in a playoff game in his place. Milwaukee has been knocking on the door of being a dangerous team in the East. Could they stun the Raptors and win in Round 1?

The Bucks do seem to have advantages in terms of length and defensive acumen. Milwaukee largely won this game by its ability to protect the rim. Toronto has many solid shooters on its team, but will presumably have to win with the jump-shot in this series. The Raptors didn’t have much of an answer for Milwaukee’s ultra-physical play down low.

The winner of this series would in theory face the No. 2 Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. However, the Cavaliers only beat the No. 7 Indiana Pacers at Quicken Loans Arena by a point earlier in the afternoon. Are we sure Cleveland is going to make it to the NBA Finals? The Cavaliers’ defense is rancid.

The Eastern Conference Playoffs are off to an exciting start. Will the two other Eastern Conference series live up to the hype? How about the four in the Western Conference? Maybe it’s time to Fear the Deer.
