Capitals vs. Maple Leafs live stream, Game 2: TV schedule, online and more
The Washington Capitals and Toronto Maple Leafs had one heck of a Game 1. Game 2 on Saturday is a can’t miss game. Here’s how to watch.
The initial games of the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs saw a ton of excitement. Maybe no game provided as much excitement as Game 1 between the Washington Capitals and Toronto Maple Leafs. The President’s Trophy winning Caps fell behind to the eighth seed Leafs 2-0 early. However, thanks to two clutch goals from Justin Williams and an overtime winner from Tom Wilson, Washington came away with a 3-2 win.
While the Caps didn’t play their best 67 minutes, they dominated after the first 30 minutes. Williams’ power play goal in the first period started an amazing comeback. His second period goal tied the game. Braden Holtby was outstanding in net and the Caps managed to shutdown the Leafs top forward line.
On the other side of the ice, the Maple Leafs need to examine what went wrong in the last 37 minutes. They are terrible at holding leads and that’s not a good sign moving forward. Still, Toronto gave the Caps a good run for their money and there are definitely some positives they can take away from the game. However, the Capitals might have too much confidence moving forward after how they closed the game.

Game 2 promises to be an exciting affair. The Caps might have gotten the wakeup call they needed by falling behind 2-0 in the series. Their resilience in coming back suggests they are different from the team who is known for choking. Chokers don’t come back from deficits as confidently and swiftly as the Caps did.
