Former NFL quarterback Mike Vick will make good use of his retirement by spreading knowledge to future football stars.

It’s been a few months since the former NFL superstar Mike Vick announced he’s done playing football for good after 13 long and productive years in the NFL. Vick changed the way the quarterback position was played in 2001 when he was drafted No.1 overall by the Falcons. Known for his strong arm, quick feet and incredible playmaking abilities, Vick was easily one of the most entertaining players in the NFL for most of the 2000s.

After failing to find an NFL team that would take him on in the 2015-16 season, Vick finally called it quits at 36 years old. Although he may be done playing football, he sure isn’t done teaching it. Vick announced this week that he plans to make good use of his retirement by opening elite football camps.

Working on the future …

Vick will be starting up the camps at some point next year in Nashville, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, Virginia, Baltimore, Houston and Los Angeles. The name of the camp will be duplicated from Vick’s already famous “V7” brand, called “V7/NPA Elite Playmakers Showcase.” The purpose of the camps is to prepare some of the nations hardest working high school talents prepare for the next level of football. Since Vick came up in a different era, where it wasn’t as easy for up-and-coming players to be noticed by scouts, he wants to make sure that today’s kids are ready to take on the challenges that the next level offers.

Vick would be a great mentor for the future stars of football. He has tons of experience in the NFL and college as well. He even has a great comeback story after missing two years of his career in 2007 and 2008. When Vick made a return to the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles, he was not only displaying great play on the field, but he was a great leader in the locker room as well. This is the beginning of a new era for Vick and any player who gets the opportunity to learn and be a part of it will surely benefit from it.
