NBA Playoffs 2017: Spurs vs. Grizzlies Game 1 live stream: Watch online
The San Antonio Spurs will host the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 1 of their 2017 NBA Playoffs first round series. Here is how to watch it online.
The San Antonio Spurs continued their dominance in 2016-17 and secured the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference. Their reward is getting to play a gritty Memphis Grizzlies basketball team that they are very familiar with. Winning at least 60 games in three of the last four years, the Spurs are no stranger to the expectations and pressure of the playoffs, but the Grizzlies hope to rain on their parade early and often.
Game 1 lineups for the Spurs are likely to be Tony Parker at point guard, Danny Green at the shooting guard, Kawhi Leonard at the small forward, LaMarcus Aldridge at power forward and Dewayne Dedmon anchoring at center. A lineup that struggled to close out the season, going .500 over their last ten games, it will be interesting to see if this unit can co-exist or if Greg Popovich will be forced to manipulate his rotation.
For Memphis, they have no Tony Allen in this series. The defensive specialist is out indefinitely with a right calf strain which hurts the Grizzlies and likely benefits the Spurs. The 35-year-old Allen helped limit Leonard to 23-of-54 shooting in three games this season, keeping Memphis in a ton of games.
In place of Allen at small forward will likely be James Ennis. Head Coach David Fizdale can continue to keep Zack Randolph coming off the bench as the sixth man. The rest of the starting lineup should be much of the same from the regular season. Running the show at point guard will be Mike Conley, Vince Carter will occupy the shooting guard position, JaMychal Green in at power forward and former Defensive Player of the Year Marc Gasol at the center.
