No Rudy Gobert means the Clippers AKA Lob City are back
With Jazz center Rudy Gobert out for the rest of the game with a left knee sprain, it didn’t take long for Clippers’ DeAndre Jordan to get a wide-open dunk.
It was less than 17 seconds into the game, but Jazz center Rudy Gobert was carried off the court. He would not return to the game with a left knee sprain.
With Gobert out of the frame, neither backup center, Derrick Favors nor Jeff Withey, could slow down DeAndre Jordan.
Surprise, surprise! Lob City was back in action for the playoffs, as soon as Gobert got out of the game. Chris Paul fed a wide-open Jordan, who did the rest of the work.
The effect of not having the Defensive Player of the Year candidate was evident early in the game.
Jordan was able to get six points in the first quarter, on 2-of-4 shooting, to go along with six rebounds. Blake Griffin feasted, scoring 11 points on 3-of-7 shooting.
Jordan has been solid again this season, averaging 12.7 points, 13.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. The Clippers’ center has feasted all year long in the paint, getting layups and lobs against centers.
With arguably the best defensive center in the NBA out tonight, Jordan should become unstoppable. Favors and Withey will have a difficult time slowing down Jordan on the glass.

The Utah Jazz better hope that Rudy Gobert is back quickly in this series, otherwise Jordan will continue to feast on lobs like this from Chris Paul. Lob City is officially back in business, baby!
