Sunderland face West Ham at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, April 15. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Sunderland haven’t had a good campaign under first year manager David Moyes. They currently sit at the bottom of the Premier League table with 20 points, 10 away from the safe zone. It’s still mathematically possible for Sunderland to get themselves out of the drop zone, but it doesn’t look likely. They have seven fixtures left, so a possible 21 points to earn, while sitting only 10 points away from safety. A win at home against West Ham would help their cause immensely.
However, a win seems unlikely as Sunderland have been allergic to scoring goals. They have not scored in a Premier league fixture since Saturday, Feb. 4, when they exploded for four goals against Crystal Palace.
West Ham haven’t faired much better this season as they sit in 14th with 36 points. They bounced back from a string of losses with a 1-0 victory against Swansea last week. West Ham haven’t been in the best of form lately, losing five consecutive prior to their win against Swansea last weekend. West Ham does lead the season series as they defeated Sunderland 1-0 in February at home.
