Houston Rockets guard and MVP candidate James Harden looked the part with what he did to Enes Kanter off the dribble in the third quarter of Game 1

What Houston Rockets guard James Harden has been able to accomplish this season is nothing short of remarkable. While it might not have a fancy name like Russell Westbrook’s triple-double, it’s been equally as amazing overall. That’s why he and Westbrook are neck-and-neck in the MVP race. However, the NBA Playoffs fortuitously provided them with the chance to duke it out.

Unfortunately for the Thunder, Enes Kanter became an innocent victim in the Harden-Westbrook battle during Game 1 of the Rockets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder series.

Playing at home, the Rockets took an early lead and held on to it for much of the first half. However, what they weren’t able to do was pull away from their foes. Once they came out of the locker room for the second half, though, they started to assert their dominance.

As Houston started to pull away, Harden just started to get downright mean about it. When the Thunder big man, Kanter, got switched onto him, the MVP candidate put on his dancing shoes and sent the Turkish center through the spin cycle en route to an easy bucket:

As beautiful as the move was, the call from Kevin Harlan may have been even better. There are many great things about playoff basketball, but having Harlan around nightly to make that type of call is certainly near the top of the list.

Kanter trying to guard Harden on the perimeter is obviously a mismatch in any capacity. However, why would Oklahoma City leave him out on an island like that? That’s just asking for embarrassment — and that’s just what the big man got.
