The Houston Rockets provided t-shirts in seats for fans at Game 1 against the Thunder, but had to call out J.J. Watt for not putting his on

Perhaps no first round series in the 2017 NBA Playoffs had as much anticipation as the one ready to occupy the Toyota Center for Games 1 and 2 between the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder. While the two teams may not be the most evenly matched, the battle between the two leading MVP candidates — James Harden and Russell Westbrook — is too tasty to pass up. Apparently that sentiment was felt by J.J. Watt.

The Houston Texans defensive star was sitting next to the Rockets bench in the Toyota Center on Sunday night, spending Easter at the game. However, while the stadium was decked out in red t-shirts that were handed out to fans, Watt was still wearing his own gray shirt. Apparently the staff for the Rockets didn’t care for that.

On the video board in the first half, Houston panned to Watt and didn’t let him get away. They called him out for not wearing the shirt, while also demanding him to put it on. He claimed it was too small, but obliged anyway because that’s what J.J. Watt does:

While it might be slightly tighter than the gray one he was wearing (contrary to what the tweet says), it’s certainly not by much. However, we’ll give Watt the benefit of the doubt. When you’re that big of a guy, that much space can make a difference.

Regardless, Watt got to catch a great first half that saw the MVP candidates trading blows and keeping things close. Meanwhile, the Texans star is just hoping not to get called out on the video board again.
