Bobby Ryan scores game-winning goal as the Ottawa Senators defeat the Boston Bruins in overtime for the second consecutive game.

For the second consecutive game, the Ottawa Senators defeated the Boston Bruins in overtime thanks to a power play goal from Bobby Ryan. The Senators now take a 2-1 series lead ahead of game 4 Wednesday night in Boston.

Just over four minutes into overtime, Bruins center Riley Nash was called for a roughing penalty to give the Senators the man advantage. After a Boston clearance, Ottawa captain Erik Karlsson picked the puck up behind his net and skated up ice with speed. The Bruins attempted changed lines while the puck was deep in the Ottawa zone. However, Karlsson was able to catch in the middle of the change and found Bobby Ryan open on the left-wing. The Swedish defense delivered a perfect pass from his own blue line to Ryan at the Bruins blue line. Ryan broke into the Boston zone and delivered a backhand pass to center Kyle Turris. Turris immediately sent the puck back to Ryan who was crashing the net and deflected it passed Boston goalie Tuukka Rask.

The goal gave Ottawa their second consecutive 4-3 overtime win. On Saturday, the Senators used a two-goal third period to force overtime. Tonight, the Senators jumped up to a 3-0 lead less than 24 minutes into the game. But the Bruins tied the game with three goals within an eight-minute span in the second period.
