DraftKings NBA Picks April 17

We are on to the second games of the first round series, but we only have two games on tap. That’s still enough to play on DraftKings! The first games are all over, so we should have more of a basis of what to expect in the coming games. At least I hope so.

More from DFS

Yesterday’s Thunder stack didn’t work so well, but honestly, my lineup was sunk long before it got to that. The awful game by Al-Farouq Aminu made sure of that.

The winning lineup had an outstanding 370.5 DraftKings points. He used C.J. McCollum and his career game along with Draymond Green, Kevin Durant, Isaiah Thomas, and a huge game from Andre Roberson to take home 100K!

PG: Kyrie Irving ($8,000): I made the mistake of going with Jeff Teague over Kyrie in the opener. I’m not making that mistake again. Cleveland owns the court at home. Irving is struggling with his shot right now, but he still racked up 41.25 DraftKings points. With only two games on the schedule, we aren’t chasing value anymore. We are chasing the highest score for the lowest price, regardless of the specific multiplier.

SG: Danny Green ($3,300): Green’s 19.75 DraftKings points were the second best of any shooting guard in action today. That said, the rest of the point guards are too expensive, and I’m not willing to gamble on bench players that may or may not see a quarter’s worth of action. I will hope for the best, which would be a 20 point offering from Green.

G: Iman Shumpert ($3,000): Shumpert saw the lion’s share of the minutes at shooting guard in this one because the Cavs needed the defense. Expect this trend to continue, meaning using Kyle Korver or J.R. Smith are more risky propositions.

UTIL: Lance Stephenson ($4,000): Stephenson picked up 29.25 DraftKings points in Game 1. He was about the only Pacer that could hit outside. C.J. Miles and Monta Ellis weren’t doing that much with the playing time. Expect Stephenson to get as much time as he can handle so long as he is hitting shots.

SF: LeBron James ($11,300): The King racked up 66 DraftKings points on the Pacers in Game 1. That isn’t going to change. Indiana couldn’t stop him during the regular season. The postseason is turning out to be more of the same. Pay up for LeBron, or fall below the money line. It’s that simple right now.

PF: LaMarcus Aldridge ($6,400): Aldridge had a solid game in Game 1, though it was a bit under value. I didn’t like what using Paul George made my lineup look like. I made LeBron and Kawhi my top priorities and filled in from that. That means that Aldridge was a better option than George even though he wont outscore him.

F: Kawhi Leonard ($8,800): Leonard fared much better against Memphis than he did in the regular season in Game 1. I expect that trend to continue with Tony Allen still out. That does put a bit of a hole in Memphis’ stellar defense, and Leonard found it. Let’s see if Memphis can adjust.

C: Tristan Thompson ($4,500): Thompson performed well above value against the Pacers once again in Game 1. He did against them all season. Don’t expect that to change. Thompson wont put up huge numbers, but he will put up 6x value. That is about a guarantee right now.
