Middlesbrough face Arsenal at the Riverside Stadium on Monday, April 17. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Middlesbrough have had quite the tumultuous season in the Premier League. After getting promoted to the top flight last season, they’ve failed to produce much of anything going forward. The club from North Yorkshire have only been able to score 22 goals thus far. After the sacking of manager Aitor Karanka a few weeks ago, the side have produced a few more goals, but have been suspect defensively. Arsenal would normally love to face a team such as Middlesbrough, but with the speculation around Arsene Wenger’s future swirling, let’s just say you shouldn’t bet for nor against the Gunners this season.
Arsenal have, at times, looked absolutely dominant in the 2016-17 season. Most other times during the year, Wenger’s men have failed to reach even the most basic levels of teamwork. The match where the Gunners thrashed Chelsea early in the season seems like years ago at this point. Antonio Conte’s team have been unstoppable for the most part since then, and have all but wrapped up the league title with seven matches left to go.
Arsenal, on the other hand, are in dangerous territory of missing out on the Champions League for the first time since Wenger took over as manager. Wenger has done all he can do to keep the squad relevant, but sometimes it’s just time to let another manager to take over. For Arsenal’s sake, let’s hope they can take care of business against one of the worst sides in the league.
