Marshawn Lynch may be back in the NFL for the 2017 season, as he and the Oakland Raiders are close to finalizing a deal to bring him out of retirement.
The Oakland Raiders lost starting running back Latavius Murray to the Minnesota Vikings via free agency this offseason, but it is looking more likely that they will be adding Marshawn Lynch to the fold for next season. Lynch, whose rights are currently owned by the Seattle Seahawks, is close to agreeing on a deal with the Silver and Black, bringing him to his hometown team. If Oakland and Seattle can come to terms on a trade, Beast Mode will officially be back in the NFL this season.
Scot McCloughan was relieved of his general manager duties by the Washington Redskins this offseason, and they currently do not have anybody in that position. While the situation behind his firing is cloudy, it certainly was not a player personnel issue. Former Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon told Pro Football Talk’s PFT Live that the players loved McCloughan, who has led the organization to successful seasons the past two years.
It could be the Brothers McCourty in the New England Patriots secondary next season, as the team has shown interest in Jason, Devin’s brother. Both McCourty brothers played together during their college days at Rutgers University, before both being drafted into the NFL. Devin was a first round selection of the Patriots and has become one of the better safeties in the league, while Jason was drafted in the sixth round by the Tennessee Titans, and has had to fight hard to become a solid cornerback in the league.
Staying in New England, former tight end Aaron Hernandez was found not guilty in his double-murder trial this past Friday. The former Pro Bowl player will not be adding to his current jail sentence after the jury found Hernandez not guilty of first-degree murder in the killings of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado. Hernandez is already serving a life sentence in prison after being found guilty of killing Odin Lloyd, a former friend who was dating Hernandez’s then-fiancee’s sister.

At 12, it could be a quarterback, as they still have not found their first franchise quarterback since Bernie Kosar was under center for the now-Baltimore Ravens.
