The highly anticipated Big3 professional basketball league announced its schedule and coach pairings for its inaugural season.

The BIG3 3-on-3 professional basketball league unveiled is 10-week schedule on Monday afternoon. Starting right after the NBA ends its season on June 25, the BIG3 league will open at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. The season ends on August 26 in Las Vegas, NV.

The BIG3 is exciting for Seattle, bringing professional basketball back to the city on August 20, right before the season ends. The regular season stops include Philadelphia, Tulsa, Dallas, LA, Lexington, Nashville, and Charlotte. Teams will compete once a week, on Sunday in the BIG3 league. Each Sunday night, there will be four games, all consecutively.

Fox Sports 1 will televise the games on the following Monday night at 8p EST / 5p PST. The player captains and coaches followed the schedule announcement. Fans will get to see NBA Hall-of-Famers and former greats in this interesting format. More than 70 former NBA players signed up to vie for the 24 spots on the eight BIG3 teams with the player captains and coaches that were announced.

The games are first to 60 points, with a first-ever four-point shot. The games will be exciting and competitive. Former NBA legends Allen Iverson and Chauncey Billups highlight the exciting talent. Vying for those last 24 spots include former greats Latrell Sprewell and Steve Francis, No. 1 overall pick Joe Smith, and bad boy DeShawn Stevenson.

The BIG3 draft will take place before the beginning of the season, and many talented NBA players will get left out. In a game of 3-on-3, the most popular format in the world, it will be interesting to see if point guards who can shoot dominate. Or, it could be big men who play with their backs to the basket who dominate. We will find out soon.
