As most expected, Seth Rollins and Samoa Joe will do battle with one another at WWE Payback

With WWE Payback set to take place in less than two weeks, it’s time for the match card to get all filled up. On Monday, a match was added to the card, and it’s a big one that we could all see coming in recent weeks.

Monday afternoon WWE officially announced that Seth Rollins will be taking on Samoa Joe, a grudge match that has been headed our way dating all the way back to January.

Samoa Joe made his long-awaited WWE main roster debut the night after the Royal Rumble, attacking the man that he will now be facing at Payback. Triple H lured Rollins to the ring, and that was the first time we learned that the Samoan Submission Machine would be on the big stage basically doing The Game’s dirty work for him; he was Trips’ personal hitman, to an extent. Since then, Joe and Rollins have had multiple altercations with one another, including on RAW last Monday where he broke up a nice moment with The Architect and new WWE RAW GM Kurt Angle. It was after that last altercation where we all realized that these two would probably go at it with one another at Payback.

For all the altercations that these two have had, though, this will be the first official match between them on the main roster, and it’s a hell of a match to add to the first pay-per-view card after WrestleMania. These are two of the best performers in the world right now, and they should no doubt out on an entertaining bout.

WWE Payback takes place on Sunday, April 30 from the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
