Mike Bennett and Maria are reportedly making their way to WWE, and they’ll be skipping the NXT portion of the orientation

We’ve heard some whispers recently that Mike Bennett and Maria may be making their way to WWE, and now it seems as if it’s a foregone conclusion. According to a report from Wade Keller and PW Torch, and a story that was first reported by Sportskeeda, the married duo are heading to work for Vince McMahon. But that’s not even the most interesting part of the report.

No, what’s maybe the most interesting in the report from Keller is that they will not be making their way to NXT, rather they’re getting boosted all the way to WWE’s main roster. While Maria has the experience, having worked for WWE for a number of years already in the past, Bennett will be a newcomer to the big time. He’s not exactly a name like AJ Styles, so the immediate spot on the main roster is a bit of a shock. However, again, he does have his wife to show him the ins and outs of the WWE world, much like I’m sure Luke Gallows did for Karl Anderson last year.

It’s expected that the two will soon make their presence felt on the SmackDown Live brand, which might be the perfect place to introduce them as opposed to RAW. If all goes correctly with Bennett and Maria, they would provide another great heel presence on the Tuesday night show, something that’s always welcomed.

If you go off of their previous work together in both Impact Wrestling and Ring of Honor, the act should be able to thrive on the main roster. The Miz and Maryse were one of the hottest acts on SmackDown Live before they were moved to Monday nights in the Superstar Shakeup, and the addition of Bennett and Maria almost serves as an immediate replacement.

Whether the two debut this week or after the next SmackDown Live pay-per-view, which is Backlash on May 21, it’s hard to see their shtick failing on the biggest stage. This should all work out well in the end.
