Kevin Fiala scores Game 3 overtime winner for the Nashville Predators to go up 3-0 in series with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Every NHL playoff game went to overtime on Monday night. In Nashville, the Predators took a commanding 3-0 series lead over the Stanley Cup favorite Chicago Blackhawks. With less than four minutes remaining in the first overtime period, Swiss rookie Kevin Fiala scored the game-winning goal.

Fiala almost won the game for the Predators earlier in the overtime frame, but Blackhawks’ goalie Corey Crawford made an unbelievable toe save. Fiala received a perfect pass in the slot from winger James Neal. Neal found Fiala positioned perfectly between four Chicago defenders, but Crawford was just able to get his pad on the puck.

With just under four minutes remaining in the period, Neal makes a great play to keep the puck in the Chicago zone. Neal passed the puck to Fiala along the boards, who dropped to puck back to Neal. Neal immediately passed the puck back to Fiala who was curling towards the net.

Prior to the pass, the Chicago defender in front of the net overcommitted to Neal at the top of the circle and put himself out of position. The defender made a diving attempt to strip Fiala of the puck. However, Fiala was able to deke around the defender and Crawford to score the game-winning goal.
