The Ottawa Senators face the Boston Bruins in Game 4 of their NHL playoff series at the TD Garden on Wednesday, April 19.
After back to back 4-3 overtime losses, the Boston Bruins look to even their series with the Ottawa Senators at home in Game 4.
In Game 2, the Bruins blew a 3-1 lead in the third period, but Ottawa rallied with two goals third-period goals and won in overtime. In Game 3, the series returned to Boston. The Senators jumped out to a 3-0 lead less than five minutes into the second period. However, Boston was able to tie the game with three second-period goals in a nine-minute span. Ottawa’s Bobby Ryan scored the overtime winner on the power play.
The Senators have the best power play in the playoffs and have converted 30 percent of their power plays. Ottawa’s Erik Karlsson, Ryan, and Derick Brassard all have four points in the series.
Boston’s Brad Marchand has been a big disappointment in the playoffs. After scoring 85 points in 80 games, Marchand has just one goal in the series. If the Bruins are going to even the series they need more production from Marchand. The return of center David Krejci from injury should help Boston generate more offense.
