Take a look at the complete list of the Detroit Lions’ 2017 NFL Draft picks. Who should the Lions be targeting?

With the 2017 NFL Draft approaching, the Detroit Lions will be weighing options regarding who would be the best fit. Detroit has a plethora of picks and there could be some late-round gems this season that end up making the 53-man roster for the Lions.

Detroit has needs at just about every defensive position and there could be some scenarios in which the Lions pick an offensive player in the first round. What will they do with each of their picks? Tune in next week to find out.

Here’s a look at the list of the Lions’ 2017 NFL Draft picks:

Round 1 – 21st overall
Round 2 – 53rd overall
Round 3 – 85th overall
Round 4 – 128th overall
Round 5 – 165th overall
Round 6 – 205th overall
Round 6 – 215th overall
Round 7 – 250th overall

With the No. 21 overall pick in the first round, the Lions have some options they can consider. First, they could target a linebacker seeing as that’s one of the main positions of need. Vanderbilt’s Zach Cunningham is likely the top option on the board.

If he’s not available, a cornerback could be the way to go. The Lions’ secondary has consistently been one of the worst in the NFL. This year’s draft is loaded at the cornerback position and there are about 10-15 guys who could be selected in the first two rounds at the position. Should they wait until round two and take a chance with a corner?

Defensive line is also a priority and there will be plenty available. Hometown prospect Malik McDowell from Michigan State is a fairly decent option. However, does he have the drive and motor to succeed in a Lions uniform?

Lastly, the Lions could gear more toward adding an offensive skill player. If a guy like Dalvin Cook or Corey Davis or even Mike Williams fall to the No. 21 spot, the Lions may take a chance.
