Denver Broncos 2017 schedule release: Games, dates and times
By Brad Weiss
The Denver Broncos failed to reach the playoffs in 2016, after winning the Super Bowl the year before, and have a new head coach for the 2017 NFL season.
With a first-year starter at quarterback, the Denver Broncos failed to reach the playoffs, after winning the Super Bowl the year before. Trevor Siemian did a nice job under center, especially towards the end of the season, but the Broncos just could not get anything going on the ground. They are still undecided as to who will be the starting quarterback in 2017, but a weak offensive line, and lack of ground game is going to hurt whoever mans the position.
Denver spent a 2016 first round draft pick on Paxton Lynch, and newly minted head coach Vance Joseph is going to give him a chance to win the job in the preseason. The Broncos have also been rumored to be interested in Tony Romo, who is currently still on the Dallas Cowboys roster. Their defense is still good enough to win games, but the division is loaded, and the Broncos may miss the playoffs again this season.
Here’s a look at who the Broncos are playing this year, by home and away:
Home: Kansas City, Los Angeles Chargers, Oakland, New England, New York Jets, New York Giants, Dallas, Cincinnati
Away: Kansas City, Los Angeles Chargers, Oakland, Buffalo, Miami, Washington, Philadelphia, Indianapolis
This is Denver’s weekly schedule (revealed upon release)..
Their out-of-division road schedule is tough, as all five teams they play are going to be a lot better in 2017. A Denver Broncos and New England Patriots game is always intense, and the two teams will battle it out at Sports Authority Field next season. Denver is going to win games, but without a true quarterback or running back, it will be tough for them to score with the quality of opponents they play on next year’s slate.

Joseph has some big shoes to fill, as Gary Kubiak won the Super Bowl in his first season as the Broncos head coach. He did bring in some big-name coordinators to help him in his first year as a head coach, so the team will definitely be ready to play each week. The AFC West is so deep, but if Denver can get some solid play on offense, they should be able to win at least eight games next season.
