Sorry, folks. We have to wait just one more week to see how Maggie reacts to the news that Meredith and Riggs may become a real couple on Grey’s Anatomy.

So … Meredith didn’t die in the last episode, obviously.

But I really hated how they did the episode, “In the Air Tonight.” And I’m saying that as someone who stayed up an extra hour at a convention and upgraded their cell data to unlimited just so they could watch. After all the effort I want through to stay up and watch it, I was really disappointed with how the episode went. The big case was weak, the obnoxious passenger was absolutely grating, and nothing Riggs or Meredith said to each other was interesting.

Of course, the plane was a stunt to stress people like myself out. However, it ultimately turned into one of the most boring episodes of the season. I would’ve been more excited if Meredith did screw up with the needle and give that guy brain damage — that makes more sense than being in the air, experiencing turbulence and being able to keep your hand steady enough to screw the tube of a needle back in.

Like, what?! Impossible.

For an airplane episode, the stakes weren’t very high. (Pun not intended.) But thankfully, they did address the previous plane crash. Meredith did, in fact, mention her sister by name and admit that Lexie died. I couldn’t tell whether Meredith was just being Meredith, but she didn’t seem particularly distressed by the memory either.

Long story short — the episode was desperately missing something.

And perhaps that’s the other doctors.

Honestly, Meredith’s maintained the least compelling arc this season. So between her boring storyline and Riggs’ barely-there storyline, I just can’t wait until we return to Grey Sloan and see Maggie, Amelia and Alex again.

Unfortunately, we’re going to have to wait another week before that happens since Grey’s Anatomy won’t air a new episode until April 27.

Here’s a preview of the next episode:
