The final stretch of episodes for Riverdale’s first season is almost here. But first, the show is taking a week off before what is sure to be a sprint to the finish.

Last week, Riverdale featured its first big high party, and it seems it was so massive that even the show itself needs some time to recover. Instead of airing a new episode this week, Riverdale will be taking a short break.

There are only three episodes left in season 1 and they will begin airing on April 27. This means that all will air during the all important May sweeps time period. And given how many questions still need to be answered, the final run of episodes is sure to be packed with information.

On the Jason murder mystery front, Cheryl is looking like a pretty likely suspect given her increased level of crazy in the past couple of episodes. But, the rules of TV seem to pint to this being too obvious of an answer. Thus, the final episodes should include a twist about who killed Jason. Probably one of the parents, and it will likely have to do with maple syrup.

While that is the biggest question the final episodes have to answer, there are also a lot of smaller mysteries, some raised just in the last episode. What is the history between F.P. Jones and Alice Cooper? Was Alice a Southside Serpent?

There is also a whole new parent in Riverdale to get to know, Molly Ringwald’s Mary Andrews. She only made a brief appearance in episode 10 but will be around for the rest of the season. It is pretty obvious that Archie won’t go to Chicago with his mother, but could Mary stay in town for even longer?

Archie will also be busy in the final stretch of episode potentially embarking on the beginnings of one of his most famous relationships from the comics with Veronica Lodge. So there is a lot of ground to cover in only three more episodes.  That should make for an all out sprint to the finale. Think of this week off as a much needed rest before things get crazy.
