NBA Playoffs 2017: Spurs vs. Grizzlies Game 3 live stream: Watch online
The San Antonio Spurs look to move one game closer to a sweep of the Memphis Grizzlies tonight in Game 3. Here’s how to watch.
The Memphis Grizzlies are doing their best to prevent a sweep in the first round by way of the San Antonio Spurs. In back-to-back seasons, the Spurs have made light work of Memphis and going back to 2015, the Spurs have won 10 straight. The Grizzlies now head back to the FedExForum to play catch-up and try to avoid another embarrassing sweep in front of their home crowd.
Undermanned and in desperate times, Memphis continued to look strong out of the gate in Games 1 and 2, only to falter in the second half from poor shooting and the inability to make defensive stops. A team known for defense, Memphis is without Tony Allen, and Kawhi Leonard continues to feast upon any player Memphis throws his way.
With no Allen disrupting him, Leonard has 69 points on just 28 shots through Games 1 and 2. Lights out from the 3-point line, the Spurs shot 52.6 percentage in Game 1, then followed it up with 39.1 in Game 2. In comparison, the Grizzlies hit on just 35 percent in Game 1 and a dismal 25.9 in Game 2.
Memphis has struggled to shoot the basketball, but more importantly, the Grizzlies are giving up so much more on the offensive end. While defense is taking a backseat, the Grizzlies can’t create shots to compete with the Spurs. In Games 1 and 2, the Grizzlies only connected on 39.2 percent and 37.8 percent from the field respectively. Not being able to stop ball paired with the inability to shoot the basketball at a high clip is what the Grizzlies have mixed together in two games against the more experienced Spurs.
In Game 3, lineups should be the same across the board. For San Antonio, if it’s not broke, don’t fix it, and for Memphis, you don’t really have many lineups to play around with. Expected Spurs lineup will be Tony Parker at point guard, Danny Green playing shooting guard, Kawhi Leonard at small forward, then LaMarcus Aldridge at power forward and Dewayne Dedmon at center. Memphis will suit up Mike Conley running point guard, Vince Carter at shooting guard, Wayne Selden at small forward, JaMychal Green at power forward and Marc Gasol at center.
