The New York Giants made it back to the playoffs for the first time in five years last season, and will be looking to take the next step in 2017.

In his first year as the head coach of the New York Giants, Ben McAdoo led the franchise back to the playoffs for the first time in five years. After replacing Tom Coughlin, McAdoo and his staff revamped the defense, making the unit much improved over the year before. Incredibly, it was their offense that let them down in the playoffs, as they lost to the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round.

As they head into 2017, they look to be the favorite in the NFC East. While they do have some deficiencies on the offensive line, they should be able to put up points next season, thanks to  the addition of Brandon Marshall to their wide receiving corps. With Marshall, Odell Beckham Jr., and Sterling Shepard on the outside, star quarterback Eli Manning has a plethora of weapons to target in the passing game.

Here is the week-by-week slate for the Giants:

Week 1: at Dallas (Sunday night)
Week 2: vs. Detroit (Monday night)
Week 3: at Philadelphia
Week 4: at Tampa Bay
Week 5: vs. San Diego
Week 6: at Denver
Week 7: vs. Seattle
Week 8: BYE
Week 9: vs. Los Angeles Rams
Week 10: at San Francisco
Week 11: vs. Kansas City
Week 12: at Washington (Thanksgiving)
Week 13: at Oakland
Week 14: vs. Dallas
Week 15: vs. Philadelphia
Week 16: at Arizona
Week 17: vs. Washington

The New York Giants have a pretty tough schedule in 2017, as they not only will have to take on their opponents in a NFC East, but will also have to welcome Seattle and Kansas City to MetLife Stadium. In addition, they will have to travel to take on Oakland, Arizona, and Tampa Bay, three teams who could be division winners next season. They have the talent to do good things next season, but protecting Eli is going to be a must.

The Giants are a very dangerous team, and McAdoo should be even better in 2017. The season ended on a sour note, first with a questionable trip to South Beach by their wide receivers, and then a complete drubbing at the hands of the Packers in the playoffs. Manning is a winner, and with not too many years left in him, the Giants are definitely in win-now mode.
