The Denver Broncos will begin their 2017 campaign at home against the LA Chargers on the first Monday Night Football game of the new season.

The first Monday Night Football game of the 2017-2018 NFL season will feature an AFC West matchup between the Denver Broncos and the Los Angeles Chargers in the Mile High city.

These two teams split their season series as the Chargers took the first game in San Diego last year and then lost in Denver two weeks later. 9News’ Mike Kilis released the news today on Twitter as the new NFL schedule begins to leak out to the media.

These two teams were very competitive when they faced off last year so it should be a fun opening MNF game to watch. What I really want to see is the final schedule for the Thursday night games. If the confirmed London games are any indication, we might be in for some rough ones again this year.

The Jaguars/Ravens, Dolphins/Saints, Browns/Vikings, and Rams/Cardinals had a combined record of 48-79 last year while the NFL will be sending the 14-2 Patriots and 12-4 Raiders down to Mexico City.

The NFL has been sending teams for ten years now and every single game except one has completely sold out. Yet the NFL is still losing money as they have to fly coaches, players, trainers, cheerleaders, and the league’s technical staff over to London, feed them and making sure they have a place to stay.

If the NFL is going to continue to push the games in London, will they continue to push the Thursday night games? Some players, including Richard Sherman, have been very vocal about their dislike of TNF.

Will there be any significant changes this year in the scheduling or will the NFL continue to act like everything is okay, put their head down and push forward? We will keep you posted as the rest of the schedule releases.
