NFL schedule leaks: Redskins host Giants on Thanksgiving
By Kevin McHugh
The Washington Redskins are expected to host the New York Giants on Thanksgiving Night.
With the 2017 NFL schedule set to be announced Thursday, the rumors are sure to fly, and so far, we like what we are hearing.
According to Master Tesfatsion of the Washington Post, the Washington Redskins are expected to host the New York Giants in a matchup on Thanksgiving. Tesfatsion also reported the game will occupy the evening time slot, which is fitting considering the intrigue surrounding this classic NFC East matchup.
With both teams expected to contend for the playoffs this season, the winner of this game could have the inside track to the NFC East crown. If that wasn’t enough, seeing Josh Norman and Odell Beckham Jr. go at it again in prime time will be a sight to see. We’ll also find out how the presence of Brandon Marshall affects the dynamic of the longtime Giants-Redskins rivalry, as he has never been one to shy away from conflict.
It will also be interesting to see how Kirk Cousins and his revamped receiving corps match up with a tough Giants’ defense that ranked second in the league in points allowed in 2016. Having lost DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon to free agency in the offseason, Cousins has been getting acquainted with new acquisition Terrelle Pryor, and to see how their chemistry has progressed in prime time against one of the league’s best defenses will be fun to watch.

Say what you want about the quality of NFL prime time games over the past few years, but they hit the nail on the head with this one, even though it feels like an easy choice for this game to end up on the Thanksgiving slate. Either way, we are looking forward to it, as there will be no shortage of drama.
