The Oakland Raiders took a major step forward in 2016, making the playoffs for the first time since 2002. Here is there schedule for 2017.

The 2016 NFL season was a good one for the Oakland Raiders, up until Week 16 against the Indianapolis Colts. With the AFC West divisional title in their grasps, the Raiders suffered some incredible bad luck, as quarterback Derek Carr broke his leg late in the fourth quarter of a blowout win. Oakland would go on to lose in Week 17, losing the division title as well, and would be eliminated in their first playoff game since 2002 the following week against the Houston Texans.

In 2017, the Raiders should take another big step forward, especially if they can stay healthy. Carr has developed into one of the better young quarterbacks in the league, and was on his way to a possible NFL MVP if he didn’t get hurt against the Colts. They do have some holes, as they need a running back, and their defense has deficiencies, but they should be able to put up points with anybody next season.

Here is the 17-week schedule for the Raiders, per NFL.com:

Oakland has a pretty favorable schedule next season, as they get to play host to the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, and Baltimore Ravens. They do head east for a couple of matchups, as they will have to visit the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles. Still, losing the division last year will pay dividends in their schedule in 2017, and with a year of experience under their belts, this Raiders team could be in for a special year.

There is still no telling who is going to run the ball, and the defense has to stop giving up big plays, especially in the secondary. Head coach Jack Del Rio has been a perfect fit in Oakland, and despite the fact the team is moving to Las Vegas, they should have a huge home field advantage in 2017. This team is built to win now, and if things fall their way, they could be headed to their first Super Bowl win since 1983.
