NFL Mock Draft 2017: Defense rules early
By Brad Weiss
The Buffalo Bills have had a very interesting offseason, as they lost some big name players, while making commitments to some of their better veterans. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor restructured his contract, and will be under center for first-year head coach Sean McDermott this season. This week, the team picked up the fifth-year option on wide receiver Sammy Watkins, but he has not proven to be very consistent during his short NFL career.
With the tenth overall pick, look for the Bills to add depth to the wide receiver position, especially after losing Robert Woods to free agency this offseason. Mike Williams from Clemson is the best wide receiver in this draft, and he is certain to be gone in the first ten picks. If he is available at No. 10, he would instantly improve a wide receiving corps that will need to step up if Taylor is going to continue to improve at the quarterback position.
Williams can make all the catches, and he showed he has the heart of a lion during the Tigers National Championship Game win. With LeSean McCoy in the backfield, and a combination of Williams and Watkins at wide receiver, the Bills may actually be in contention for a Wild Card spot this season. Buffalo is going to struggle next season, but if the offense can put points on the board, they should at least be competitive more times than they were in 2016.
