Call of Duty: WWII confirmed, worldwide reveal next week
After weeks of rumors and speculation, it’s official. Call of Duty WWII is the next installment in the series, and the game will be revealed next week.
For all the passionate fans and haters of wall-running and jetpacks, we’re with you. It seems like Call of Duty developer Sledgehammer Games has heard you as well. Call of Duty: WWII is now official. Prior to its announcement, we already had a good idea that this game was real. Based on all the leaks, it was only a matter of time.
This is absolutely phenomenal news. Considering that the series was running out of steam and losing a bunch of long-time fans, it’s great that they’re finally returning to their roots. Don’t get us wrong. We’ve had our fun with some of the latest Call of Duty games, such as Black Ops III.
However, they have deviated so far from the formula that made these games so successful. With the series returning to the traditional boots on the ground feel, it’s going be incredible. It’s also great that it’ll take place in the World War II era.
If you’re anxiously awaiting to see how gameplay looks, you won’t have to wait to long. The worldwide reveal will take place on Wednesday, April 16 at 1 p.m. ET. We aren’t sure what Sledgehammer Games is working on, if we’re being honest. There isn’t any idea as to what kind of gameplay they’ll be showing either.
Next: Beast Wars arrive in Transformers: Earth Wars
Maybe we’ll just see a cinematic campaign trailer and they’ll save the gameplay footage for E3 2017 in June. That’s usually how it ends up happening.
All we know is that we’re so glad that this game is officially happening. We can’t wait to see more next week.
