With Call of Duty: WWII officially confirmed, three new images and an ad teaser have leaked. The full reveal will be on Wednesday, April 26.

It’s no secret that the Call of Duty series has taken a turn for the worst these last three years. We aren’t saying the last three games are terrible because we did find some enjoyment with them. However, the developers have definitely strayed away from the formula that made the series what it is. The good news is that developer Sledgehammer Games aim to make things right by returning to the its traditional roots with Call of Duty: WWII. On Friday, the game was officially announced after weeks of speculation. The full reveal is coming this Wednesday, but we have some leaked images and a brief teaser to hold us over till then, thanks to WWG.

The new images don’t show much, but they’re great to look at. Immediately, from the first image, you notice that the game is aiming to be extremely realistic. It’s also returning to the World War II era, and you can see all the inspirations of the era with the weapons, the equipment and the scenery.

The second image sees the return of a classic weapon, the Thompson submachine gun. Similarly, we saw a weapon like this in Battlefield 1. We aren’t sure whether it’ll be the same or have its own uniqueness. We can’t wait to find out though.

Lastly, the final image shows a band of soldiers in the middle of war. You see a trench behind them, which is where they were probably taking cover or refuge. To keep it simple, this is everything we were hoping for from the franchise.

The teaser doesn’t show much else. Check it out below, courtesy of Charlie INTEL:

Like we said, there’s still much more to see. The worldwide reveal will take place on Wednesday, April 26 at 1 p.m. ET.
