Washington Wizards point guard John Wall pulls off one of the best transition jams you will ever see in a basketball game against the Atlanta Hawks.
John Wall continues to be the best player in the Washington Wizards’ first-round series with the division rival Atlanta Hawks. Atlanta may have gotten off to a blistering start in Game 3 down 2-0 in the series, but Wall had the signature play of the first quarter.
Down big on the road in Atlanta, Wall does what he does in transition by blowing by the Atlanta defense with his unreal speed with the ball in his hands. As he gets to the Hawks’ free throw line, he goes around the world with the basketball, successfully getting the rock into his left hand for the slam.
Wall was being closely guard by Atlanta’s athletic wing Kent Bazemore. Had Wall kept the ball in his right hand, there could have been a chance for Bazemore to block the dunk attempt. Given that Wall is an elite NBA point guard, he had the presence of mind to pull off this filthy slam on the Hawks.
Even the home crowd at Philips Arena in Atlanta could respect that dunk by Wall He may play for a rival, but the Hawks faithful should know how special Washington’s point guard is. The 2017 NBA Playoffs are Wall’s time to shine. He has the ability to single-handedly orchestrate a deep run in the Eastern Conference Playoffs for Washington.
The Wizards failed to qualify for the 2016 NBA Playoffs. Their last series in the Eastern Conference Playoffs coincidentally came against Atlanta. The Hawks would win a feisty 2015 Eastern Conference Semifinals series over Washington four games to two.
